Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt believes Saturday’s final World Cup warm-up match against England at Twickenham will be the perfect test for his side.
The Six Nations champions are looking to bounce back from a defeat to Wales last week.
Schmidt believes a win would provide the perfect platform for success.
Ireland suffered a setback last week with the 16-109 defeat to Wales. Captain Paul O'Connell admits it was a deflating loss for the Irish team.
"I'd love to win a World Cup but it's a long, long way away now," he said. "And I'll tell you, the Monday morning after the Wales game, when we reviewed it, it felt a long, long way away as well.
"For me I don't think there's any value in me or us getting distracted by that.
"I think the week after you lose you wonder almost why you're playing any more, and Monday was tough.
