A move for Republic of Ireland winger Aiden McGeady failed to materialise before the transfer window shut yesterday evening despite speculation that he could be loaned out.
The Irish winger has dropped down the pecking order at Everton but is believed to have turned down a move away from Goodison Park to Sunderland.
