Robbie Brady regained consciousness after a collision on the pitch that left him in hospital.
Ireland’s new number 10 was left out cold after a clash of heads with Solomon Kverkvelia. The Norwich man was stretchered off such was the severity of the crash.
Brady spent the night in hospital as a precaution and is expected to miss the game against Moldova on Sunday.
Guram Kashia helped the prone Brady, the quick thinking Georgia defender put the Dubliner in the recovery position before medical personnel arrived on the pitch to treat him.
Brady spent the night in hospital after a scan with manager Martin O'Neill confirming he was suffering from concussion.
Kashia told The Irish Daily Star: "He was unconscious but shaking violently and I saw his tongue going into the back of his mouth."
"It was scary and looked very dangerous but I knew to control myself in the situation."
"I knew you had to hold the neck and reach in so I went to him immediately, it was looking really bad for him."
Then I tried to hold his tongue until the doctor got there and thankfully he was there quickly."
Robbie Brady is conscious in the dressing room. The medical team are taking every precaution possible. Thank you for your messages. #COYBIG
