Reports that Rassie Erasmus could be persuaded to leave Munster have been labelled ‘fabricated’ by his lawyer.

Allister Coetzee is reportedly set for an early exit from his role as head coach of South Africa.

Reports in the country indicated that Erasmus was being lined up to replace Coetzee, who’s under increasing pressure.

"Rassie has a contract with Munster and won't travel to South Africa for discussions while doing so well with Munster," Frikkie Erasmus, Rassie's lawyer, told rugby365.com.

"Rassie is very happy in Ireland. He doesn't have to deal with interference as is the case in South Africa. He still has plenty of time left on his contract, which is a very good one."

The Munster director of rugby has presided over a hugely successful period with the province, they have secured their place in the Champions Cup quarter-final and have won 11 of their last 12 competitive matches.

The only loss during that time came against Leicester in Europe, as they went down 18-16.

The speculation is fueled by Coetzee’s uncertain future, president of the South Africa Rugby Union Mark Alexander admitting they were considering his position: "At the end of January, we'll make an announcement on whether we're keeping him."
