Real Madrid have confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will be joining Juventus after the clubs agreed a €100 million fee.

The all-time Champions League top scorer is signing a four-year deal with a salary of around €30 million a year. The news comes following Ronaldo and his agent finalising the details of the deal in Greece on Tuesday.

The player wrote an open letter to Real Madrid fans saying: "I only have feelings of enormous gratitude for this club and for this city." He followed that by saying that he had "nine absolutely wonderful years at the club".

The letter continued with Ronaldo stating that, "Real Madrid has conquered my heart, and that of my family, and that is why more than ever I want to say thank you: thank you to the club, the president, the director's, my colleagues, all the staff, doctors, physios and incredible people that make everything work", ending it with "Hala Madrid".

The club also released a statement saying, "Today, Real Madrid wants to express its gratitude to a player who has proved to be the best in the world and who has marked one of the brightest times in the history of our club and world football."

The statement continued to thank Ronaldo for his achievements and dedication and finished by saying "Real Madrid will always be your home."
