Irish skipper Paul O'Connell has been the subject of transfer speculation over the last couple of weeks but despite admitting to reading the papers, he laughed off any suggestions he is off to Toulon.

The Munster man is contracted to the IRFU until the summer of 2016 but he may hang up the international shirt before then, when the World Cup is over.

Could that open the door to the French club buying out his contract if he no longer has to worry about being in the best shape for Ireland?

O'Connell was also asked by 98FM Sport's Stephen Doyle for his opinion on the player welfare scheme which has seen Leinster head coach Matt O'Connor and Irish head coach Joe Schmidt having a very public disagreement recently.

Irish rugby international Paul O’Connell launches the new adidas Climachill product range. When it comes to performance, every degree matters, the new Climachill product range makes sure athletes can perform at their best regardless of heat, through new age design and material selection for maximum cooling. Climachill is the next generation of active-cooling sportswear and is available now from Life Style Sports and www.adidas.ie.
