Liverpool's chances of playing in the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in ten years have been boosted after their star striker trained with the rest of the squad at Melwood tonight.

Mohamed Salah came off early in the second-half of the 3-0 win in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie against Manchester City at Anfield with a groin problem.

He then missed the Merseyside derby draw at Everton on Saturday and manager Jurgen Klopp was keeping the opposition guessing when asked about the player's condition ahead of the second leg away to City.

"Not sure one-hundred per cent," replied Klopp at the pre-match press briefing before revealing that Salah had spent Sunday night at Melwood with the club's athletic coach.

His hope that the Egypt international would train at the 5pm session this evening was not in vein as he was seen on the pitch with the rest of the squad during the fifteen minutes in which the press may observe proceedings.

"It's a rather yes than no but we have to see. Then we have to wait for the reaction until tomorrow and then we'll make a decision."

Left-backs Andy Robertson and Alberto Moreno also trained after they both missed the game at Goodison Park although one man who definitely is ruled out along with Emre Can (back) is skipper Jordan Henderson who is serving a one-match suspension after receiving his third yellow card of the tournament last week.
