The GAA's Central Hearings Committee have decided to reduce the two-match ban dished out to Dublin's Liam Rushe to just one.

The Dubs hurler appealed the punishment he received after being red carded for striking Maurice Shanahan in the All-Ireland hurling quarter-final against Waterford.

The Boys in Blue exited the Championship thanks to a 2-12 to 1-19 defeat at the hands of the Deise, in that match at Semple Stadium.

Meanwhile the €6,500 fines dished out to the Dublin and Armagh county boards will also stand after they unsuccessfully appealed their punishement following the nasty clashes between the teams in a challenge match in July.
