Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has bemoaned his side's lack of goals this season.

They've scored just 47 Premier league goals so far in this campaign.

At the same stage last season, they'd hit the net 93 times.

They failed to score once again last night, as they fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Hull City.

That all but ended their hopes of a top four finish this season.

Mario Balotelli, in particular, has struggled to replace the goals scored by Luis Suarez and Daniel Strurridge last season.

Rodgers believes Balotelli - and the rest of the squad - need to prove they're good enough to stay:

Rodgers is also keen on signing some big name players this summer, to improve their chances of reaching the Champions League next year.

He says adding prestigious players would be a boost to everybody at the club:
