Georgie Kelly is the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland Player of the Month for September.

The Bohemians striker has been rewarded - again - for his outstanding form this season.

Kelly scored four goals last month and has 18 for the season.

It's the second time he has been voted as Player of the Month this year.

It's also the fourth month in a row that a Bohemians player has won the award.

Kelly has been joined in the winners' enclosure by Ali Coote and Dawson Devoy in recent times.

He received more votes than Sean Boyd of Finn Harps, who was runner up, and Dundalk's Pat Hoban in third.

"To pick up the SSE Airtricity/Soccer Writers Ireland award for the second time is unexpected," Kelly said.

"It’s four in a row now for Bohs, which is an incredible achievement."

Kelly's form this season has been one of the highlights of the campaign.

Arguably his best goal came in a cracking 3-3 draw with Derry City in September.

He concedes he hasn't scored too many better in his career.

"The goal against Derry is definitely one of my best. I probably won’t score many more of them.

"I should have headed it to be honest, but for some reason I took it down and hit it over the shoulder.

"It was a nice finish and a great game, so that was a good advert for the league."

After a busy summer that featured a memorable European run, there's an important spell ahead for Keith Long's side as the season draws to a close.

They sit in fifth place, but with a game in hand on the two sides immediately above them, Derry City and Sligo Rovers.

Bohemians also have a say in the destination of this year's FAI Cup.

They take on Waterford in the semi-finals on October 22nd, a fixture for which they have home advantage.
