Keith Long has been appointed as the new Bohemians manager.

The former Athlone Town and Bray Wanderers boss replaces Owen Heary in the Dalymount Park hotseat.

Heary stepped down after Bohs last league game of the season last Friday, to take over as Sligo Rovers manager.

Long was in charge of Athlone Town, as they were relegated on the final day of the season.

He also won league titles with Dundalk and St. Patrick’s Athletic in his playing days, while also playing with Stoke City and Bray Wanderers.

40 year old Long says: “I am delighted to be taking over as manager of Bohemian FC and I am very much looking forward to working at this great football club.

“Preparations for next season will begin immediately and we will endeavour to build on the progress made this year.”

Meanwhile, Bohemians club president Matt Devaney says: “We would like to welcome Keith to the club and look forward to him building on the progress Bohemians made this season.”

“Keith is a young and ambitious manager who matches well the ethos at Bohemian Football Club and will help develop it.”
