Irish international cricketer Tim Murtagh spoke to 98FM's Jamie Moore at Malahide Castle as Ireland announced their match against England next Summer.

Tim played with the late Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes a number of years ago.

Hughes died after being struck in the neck by a ball during a match two weeks ago. It has opened up a massive debate about protection of players in the sport.

The Australian cricket team returned to action for the first time today since his death while bowler Sean Abbott, who bowled the ball that led to Hughes' fatal injuries, also played his first match since the tragedy.

Murtagh has been hit on the head himself whilst playing, and has also bowled balls that have hit opposition players on the head.

He feels that the experts need to look into protecting players better.
