Robbie Keane has hinted that the next step he takes in his footballing career could be away from LA Galaxy.

The Irish skipper scored an extra-time winner in the MLS Cup Final last Sunday which sealed his third MLS title since joining the west-coast club.

Keane was also voted the league's most valuable player but has hinted he may seek a challenge elsewhere after his post-season break.

“I definitely need to recharge the batteries and see what the next chapter is for me, whether it’s here or it’s somewhere else. I’m not saying I’m going to leave but what I’m saying is I need to consider what I want to do, you know? Sometimes change is good for everybody.”

QPR manager Harry Redknapp revealed this week that Keane is on his radar, most likely on a short-term loan deal but whatever decision the Tallaght man makes, he'll be putting himself first.

"First and foremost, I’ve got to worry about myself. I have to worry about what I’m going to do. I’ve had a tremendous four years here. I need a vacation and see what next year holds for me first. I’ll look at that first and see what’s best for Robbie Keane instead of worrying about anybody else."

Vacation??!! We're sure after a couple of weeks back in Ireland for Christmas, Robbie will be speaking like an Irishman once again!
