Former Kerry footballer Paul Galvin stated in his Sunday Times column that Dublin's Diarmuid Connolly should consider switching the football for a sliothar before he finishes his GAA career.
The St. Vincent's man plays both hurling and football for his club and Galvin believes he is of inter county standard.
"I watched him hurl recently and he is inter-county quality. Dublin’s hurlers will have Leinster honours and more on their minds over the next few years."
Galvin, who has four All-Ireland titles to his name with the Kingdom thinks that Connolly is "young enough to hurl and revisit football if he wishes. The hurling world would welcome him I’m sure, even if the football world seems intent on exposing him."
The Kerryman's comments come on the back of Connolly's altercation with linesman Ciarán Branagan during Dublin's Leinster quarter-final victory over Carlow. Connolly faces a lengthy 12 week ban for his interaction with the Down official.
An appeal of the ban will be heard on Wednesday evening, but Galvin reaffirms that, "if he (Connolly) is expected to see out the rest of his career being targeted, as the pundits suggest, then he should consider the remainder of his football-playing days carefully."
