Arsenal will begin their title defence in one of five all-Premier League ties to be played in the FA Cup third round next month.
The Gunners face Sunderland at the Emirates on the weekend beginning January 8th while Manchester United will host a side they became quite familiar with in the competition in the 90s, Sheffield United.
The two sides met in the cup three times in that decade with the Blades winning 2-1 in the fifth round in 1993 while United won the next two in 1994 and 1995.
Liverpool have been pitted against mid-table League Two side Exeter who are in for a cash windfall when the Reds travel to St James Park in England's south-west.
Chelsea will be expected to come out on top against either Leyton Orient or Scunthorpe at Stamford Bridge but the Manchester City v Norwich, Spurs v Leicester, Southampton v Crystal Palace or Watford v Newcastle ties may not be as straightforward.
