Joe Schmidt has revealed the Ireland team that will face Italy at Soldier's Field in Chicago.

There is an experimental and youthful feel to the starting XV, with a fresh look to the half-back partnership with Leinster's Luke McGrath getting a run out in place of the injured Conor Murray and Munster's Joey Carbery entrusted with the No 10 shirt.

Elsewhere, Leinster's Jordan Larmour is at full back, while Munster's Tadhg Beirne alongside Quinn Roux in the second row.

Former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan joined us to run the rule over the selections.

"I suppose the one that sticks out for me is Larmour starting at full back," he said.

"It's kind of a position that you need to drill down into. There isn't any real evident cover for full-backs. Jared Payne retired, so Rob Kearney has been starting practically all the games over the last 20 matches.

"So this is kind of to see if Larmour can handle it and if he does - well, I would expect him to, he's a superb talent - we might see him again maybe in one of the bigger games before the end of the Autumn. So that's one that jumps out for sure. I think that's an area that they need to look closely at for sure because there really isn't any cover at full back the moment, if anything happens to Rob Kearney."
