Dundalk to begin Europa League group campaign in Tallaght

Dundalk have confirmed that their UEFA Europa League group campaign will begin at Tallaght Stadium.

With their Oriel Park home not suitable for UEFA group stage fixtures, the Lilywhites have been forced to find accommodation in the nightmare Dublin rental market.

It had been expected that all three of their group games would be played at the Aviva Stadium. It was at the Lansdowne Road venue where they beat KI 3-1 last month to book their group ticket.

However, the Six Nations game with Italy on October 24 means that Filippo Giovagnoli's side will welcome Norwegian side Molde to the home of Shamrock Rovers on October 22.

The games with Rapid Wien (November 26) and Arsenal (December 10) will both be played at the Aviva with 8pm starts.

Dundalk have three SSE Airtricity Premier Division games to contend with before they resume their European adventure.

However, this Friday's scheduled game with St. Patrick's Athletic was postponed after a member of the Saints' squad tested positive for coronavirus.

Europa League Group B Fixtures
October 22nd: Molde FK (Tallaght Stadium) 5.55pm
October 29th: Arsenal (A) 8pm
November 5th: Rapid Wien (A) 5.55pm
November 26th: Rapid Wien (Aviva Stadium) 8pm
December 3rd: Molde FK (A) 8pm
December 10th: Arsenal (Aviva Stadium) 8pm
