Daniel Cleary has been drafted into the Liverpool squad for Thursday's Europa League clash against Bordeaux. He's been named on the bench for the game in France.

The defender is a regular member of the Reds U21 squad, he made his senior debut in pre season on the club’s tour of Bangkok, Brisbane, Adelaide and Malaysia.

The Dubliner came off the bench late in the second half replacing Nathaniel Clyne during the friendly with the Malaysia XI in Kuala Lumpur back in July.

The 19-year-old centre-back has been at Liverpool since he was 11-years-old having moved from Crumlin United. Cleary is also a youth international and has played for Ireland since U15 level.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has left Christian Benteke, James Milner, Lucas Leiva, Dejan Lovren, Nathaniel Clyne and Martin Skrtel behind as he looks to give the young guns the chance to impress.
