St Patrick’s Athletic will be hoping to make it back to back Dublin Derby wins when they travel to the home of the Hoops on Friday night.

Fresh off the back of their impressive 3-0 demolition of Bohemians, Liam Buckley’s men travel to Tallaght to take on in form Shamrock Rovers.

They’re looking to make it 3 wins from 3 having beaten Longford Town 1-0 last week. The only blot on the Saints copy book was an opening day 3-1 defeat to Galway United at Richmond Park.

The return to fitness and form of Christy Fagan has been key to their solid start. The striker missed a chunk of last season with a knee problem.

He’s back in the team, and back among the goals. He hit the net against Galway, got the only goal of the game against Longford and was on target against the Gypsies on Monday night.

Fagan is delighted to be back in action and is hoping to continue his goal scoring exploits. He reckons the signing of Billy Dennehy will help his cause.

He believes the creative midfielder will be a big part of any potential success the Saints have this season.

Fagan spoke to Jamie Moore and Darren Cleary on 98FM’s League of Ireland podcast:

The Hoops have had a perfect start to the new season. They ran out 1-0 winners over Finn Harps on Monday night, that followed a 2-0 home win over newly promoted Wexford Youths.

Pat Fenlon's side began their campaign with a 2-0 victory away to Sligo Rovers. They’re just behind leaders Dundalk on goal difference.

Dave O’Connor has cemented his place at centre-half. He knows they face their toughest challenge so far against the Saints.

He’s plotting ways to stop sharp shooter Christy Fagan:

Shamrock Rovers Vs St Patrick's Athletic is the feature game on 98FM Sport on Friday night. Stephen Doyle will have live updates from the Tallaght Stadium from 7pm. Listen to 98FM's League of Ireland Podcast, in full, by clicking play on the link below.
