Diarmuid Connolly is almost certain to miss Saturday’s All-Ireland semi final replay against Mayo.

The Dublin star has failed in his appeal against the red card he received late-on in the drawn game last Sunday.

He was sent off after an injury time clash with Mayo’s Lee Keegan.

The GAA's Central Hearings Committee convened to discuss the red card last night and decided against overturning a one-match ban.

It means he's almost certain to miss Saturday's replay against Mayo, though Connolly can still bring his case before the Central Appeals Committee.

However, it looks more than likely that Connolly will miss the game.

Earlier this week, Philly McMahon was cleared to play in the replay, after the CCCC decided he had no case to answer over a clash with Mayo’s Aidan O’Shea.

Meanwhile, Mayo have unveiled an unchanged team for Saturday’s replay.

That means the Connacht champions can call upon Donal Vaughan, who appears to have recovered from the shoulder injury he suffered early-on last weekend.

Goalkeeper Robert Hennelly and forward David Drake also retain their places, having been late inclusions last Sunday.
