Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insists that David De Gea will be back "very soon", amid reports he'd miss the rest of this month.

The goalkeeper returned to Spain for the birth of his first child and missed United's midweek draw at Crystal Palace. He will also be absent for Sunday's derby against Premier League leaders Man City.

"As soon as David travels back we just have to follow the Government rules. So I expect him to be available very soon," Solskjaer said of De Gea's availability this afternoon.

"Making up stories that have been in the press this morning is not fair on our fans, not fair on David.

"We allowed him to go back because he wanted to be there with his girlfriend. We want our players back as soon as possible, but there's a human being that we have to look after.

"David was there for this fantastic day for him and his family. I don't know when he'll be back but it won't be long."

With De Gea in Spain, Dean Henderson is set to keep goal against City and Solskjaer has confidence in the England international.

"Dean came in and played well. He's ready."
