Gordon D’Arcy is set to retire after the World Cup.

This morning’s Herald claims the Leinster centre will hang up his boots in the autumn.

The report says the 35-year-old has signed a four-month deal with the IRFU.

He is hoping that will see him to the end of the World Cup campaign in England and Wales.

If he was to make the World Cup squad, it means D’Arcy’s last home game for Leinster could be next Friday’s Pro 12 clash with Treviso.

There is no guarantee he will make the World Cup squad, however, having been overlooked at the end of the Six Nations earlier this year.

If he doesn’t make Joe Schmidt’s squad, he will train and play at Leinster on standby in the autumn, in case of injury.

He has played 81 times for Ireland, scoring 7 tries.

He’s also played 260 times for Leinster, scoring 339 points.
