Daly In Running For Director Of Hurling Role?

Hurlers who get two yellow cards could be subbed rather than sent off.

That's one of the proposals made by the GAA Hurling 2020 Review Committee today.

The commitee made several proposed rule changes and recommendations, all of which are to be voted on at congress next month.

The introduction of an advantage rule, 20 metre frees being defended by just three players and squad numbers for teams in the Liam McCarthy Cup were also proposed.

One-on-one penalties, which are being trialled in the Walsh Cup and Waterford Crystal Cup this month, are also proposed to be made permanent.

Meanwhile, the Committee has also recommended working with an external consultancy organisation to produce a template to try develop hurling in weaker counties.

That would include the establishment of a full time Director of Hurling.

One man who could be in line for that role is former Dubs boss Anthony Daly.

He's now head of Limerick's hurling academy.
