Connacht's Guinness PRO14 meeting with Benetton has been called off.

Competition organisers say "a small number of isolated positive cases" of coronavirus have cropped up at the Italian side.

Connacht were due to welcome Benetton to the Sportsground in Galway on Monday (November 2).

Benetton must follow Italian health guidelines, meaning they cannot resume rugby activity until cleared to do so.

Scarlets played Benetton in the PRO14 last week, but the latest round of PCR screening at the Welsh outfit has returned entirely negative results.

The PRO14 say they will examine future dates in which the fixture can be rearranged.
