Ian Madigan could very well be the outhalf that closes out the game for Ireland when they face Wales in their penultimate Six Nations match this Saturday afternoon.

Johnny Sexton was named in the starting team today after recovering from a hamstring tweak in the victory over England just eleven days ago.

Sexton has had hamstring issues before and if it's tweaked again in Cardiff, Madigan will deputise as he did in the last match.

Although this clash isn't a Grand Slam decider like the Cardiff trip in 2009, Ireland must win this game if they are to repeat the feat of six years ago.

That day, Ronan O'Gara scored a stunning drop goal (see below) at the death to clinch Ireland's first Grand Slam since 1948.

Would Madigan have the nerve to do something similar?

He spoke to 98FM Sport's Stephen Doyle at the team base in Carton House this afternoon
