Youtube has been helping Dublin forward Ciaran Kilkenny prepare for their opening Leinster Championship game against Laois.

The Castleknock clubman was named Opel GAA/GPA Player of the Month for April today.

The O’Moore men booked a date with the Dubs by beating Wicklow last week. Donie Kingston scored 1-6 as they defeated Johnny Magee’s men by 3-16 to 0-18 last weekend.

The Boys in Blue approach this one as the reigning All Ireland and Leinster champions. They’re bidding to win a 6th provincial title in a row.

Jim Gavin’s men last played Laois in the Championship in 2014, the Boys in Blue overcame that hurdle but it wasn’t without a fight.

The O’Moore men pushed the Dubs hard that day and actually were leading in the game at half time. Dublin emerged much stronger after the restart and eventually won out on a score-line of 2-21 to 0-16.

Ciaran Kilkenny missed that game though injury, he had suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament in a Allianz League game against Kildare earlier that year.

In anticipation of this game the talented forward has been assessing the opposition ahead of their quarter-final meeting with the aid of Youtube:

It’s been a good few weeks for Ciaran Kilkenny. He was part of the Castleknock team that pulled off a big shock in the opening round of the Dublin Senior Football Championship.

Castleknock’s reward for stunning St Oliver Plunkett’s is a date with St Sylvester’s in the second round of the competition.

Ciaran Kilkenny believes the club’s impressive rise up the ranks is a testament to years of hard work behind the scenes:
