There was a veritable goal-fest in the Champions League last night.

40 goals were scored- that's the most for a single match day in the Champions League.

Six of those goals were scored by Chelsea.

They racked up their biggest ever Champions League win, as they thrashed NK Maribor 6-nil at Stamford Bridge.

Eden Hazard scored twice, with Loic Remy, John Terry and Didier Drogba also on the mark.

Drogba’s goal was his first since his return to the club in the summer- and his first for Chelsea since he scored the match-winning penalty in the Champions League Final in 2012.

Bayern Munich also racked up the goals, as they demolished Roma 7-1 in Rome last night.

Arjen Robben hit a brace there, while Götze, Lewandowski, Müller, Ribéry and Shaqiri also netted.

That was the German side’s biggest ever away win in Europe and sees them top Group E with 9 points from 9.

Manchester City are still in very real danger of not qualifying from Group E.

They're still looking for their first win in their group, after throwing away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 away to C-S-K-A Moscow.

Sergio Aguero and James Milner gave City the lead, but CSKA came back and equalised through an 86th minute penalty to snatch the draw.

The match was held in a close to empty stadium in Moscow, but a handful of fans were allowed into the ground through sponsor invitations.
