Cameron Champ has become the second player on the PGA Tour to contract COVID-19.

The American says he is asymptomatic but has withdrawn from this week’s Travelers Championship and will self-isolate.

Champ’s positive test follows that of Nick Watney at the RBC Heritage.

Champ was not in the field at Hilton Head last week.

His positive test came during pre-tournament screening on Tuesday.

Champ told the PGA Tour website, "I feel great physically and I was obviously surprised and disappointed to learn of the test result.

“It’s important now to take the necessary steps and measures to protect others, including my loved ones."

The tour is expected to release the full results from its pre-tournament screening on Wednesday.

The PGA Tour's Health and Safety Plan insists that players who test positive must isolate for a period of ten days.
