Bohemians brush Dudelange aside to progress in Conference League

Georgie Kelly's hot-streak continued on Thursday night as Bohemians breezed into the third qualifying round of the Europa League.

The big striker scored twice as Bohs beat Dudelange 3-0 in front of 8,000 fans at the Aviva Stadium.

Keith Long's side will play PAOK of Greece in the next round courtesy of a 4-nil aggregate win.

A 9-3 aggregate win over Rhyl in the Intertoto Cup aside, the victory was Bohs' biggest ever over two legs in Europe.

What could have been a nervy night for the hosts was settled by a Rob Cornwall headed goal ten-minutes before the break.

Midway through the second half it was 2-0. Ali Coote floated a free-kick towards the far post, where Ciaran Kelly headed straight across goal to find a grateful Georgie Kelly. The former Pat's and Dundalk striker calmly nodded home to make the tie safe.

Bohs were in dreamland 17-minutes from time. Another Dudelange attack broke down, with Liam Burt sprinting the ball away from danger. The Scot played a slide-rule ball for Kelly to slot into the net and assure the Gypsies of a trip to Greece.

Shortly before full-time it was confirmed that the home leg of that tie with PAOK will once again be played at the Aviva Stadium.

Bohs' win completed an incredible night for Irish sides in Europe. Earlier in the evening, an injury-time goal from Will Patching sent Dundalk though to a third qualifying round tie with Vitesse Arnhem.
