The AIBA have plans to punish Michael Conlan for his reaction to losing his fight at the Olympics.

The London 2012 Bronze Medalist beat Vladimir Nikitin, but the judges ruled in favour of the Russian, robbing Conlan of a place in the next round and a shot at a medal.

"They're fucking cheats", an angry Conlan told RTE Sport after the fight.

"I'll never box for AIBA again. They're cheating bastards. They're paying everybody. I don't give a fuck if I'm cursing on TV”

"My dream's been shattered now but you know what, I've a big career ahead of me and these (AIBA) they're known for being cheats and they'll always be cheats!"

"Amateur boxing stinks, from the core, right to the top... I’m no loser, I’m a winner!"

International Boxing Association President Ching-Kuo Wu has told AP Conlan will face disciplinary action for his actions after the fight:

“Tishchenko never said anything. Levit never said anything. They all accept the result. But Conlan, he immediately showed his finger to the referee-judges.”

“The IOC says this is totally unacceptable. You cannot humiliate people. They are officials. He put himself in a difficult position, I can tell you. A lot of disciplinary action will follow.”

“You should show proper behaviour. If you are not happy about the result, you cannot humiliate in public our referee-judges. That has already drawn a lot of people's attention who want to punish him, so we are going to have a disciplinary commission for the case”

“You can go through the right channel to say, 'OK, may I have the chance to really review this bout?' We do have the ability to review.”

This bout particularly, with his behaviour that drew a lot of attention, we wanted to review whether it's correct or not. ... Judges have no intentions.

“Why do you think they hate your country? The judges, why do they want it in favour of this country over the other one?

“There's no reason. But since that happened, we want to totally review our system, how to improve in our mind. Maybe five judges will score all fights, and all scores will be open.”

“No more computer selection. I proposed these changes to our referee-judge management. We look at five and select three by computer, only showing the three.”

“Maybe in the future we should change it to all five judges all showing, nothing to hide. It will be transparent. We will continue to work to make it in a more perfect condition.”
