Liverpool’s poor early season form continued last night.

They face a struggle to get out of their Champions League group, after they fell to a 1-0 defeat away to Basel.

Marco Streller netted the winner for the Swiss side in the second half, after poor defending from the Reds from a corner.

It means Liverpool have won just once in their last six games in all competitions.

Real Madrid stay top of Group B.

They beat minnows Lodogorets last night- but only just.

They had to come from behind to win 2-1 in Bulgaria.

Danny Welbeck was the hero for Arsenal last night.

He netted his first ever professional career hat-trick, as the Gunners thrashed Galatasaray 4-1 at the Emirates.

It's Arsenal's first points in their group this season, after they lost last time out to Borussia Dortmund.

The result came on the 18th anniversary of Arsene Wenger taking over at Arsenal.

The Gunner had one blip- they were reduced to ten men in the second half, when keeper Wojciech Szczesny was sent off for conceding the penalty that the Turkish side then converted.

Dortmund remain top of Group D, after they beat Anderlecht 3-0.
