Is It Important To Teach Your Kids About Dog Danger?
We were reading figures last week that showed that in Ireland, 1/3 of hospital admissions due to dog bites, are children under the age of 14. Kids under the age of 14 are the most likely to be bitten by a dog.
If you are the parent of a young child, do you teach them about dog danger? Do you tell them never to approach a stranger's dog or try to pet them?
We heard from Alan, a listener who got in touch about a situation in which his dogs ears were pulled by a child and then the dog nipped at the child. He argues that parents should teach their children Doggy Danger like they do when they teach children about being careful around strangers.
