Work has begun on the second runway at Dublin Airport. Local residents in the village of St Margaret's are very concerned about it due issues like noise pollution and an increase of flights at night time. We spoke to residents of the area including Liam O'Grady, who claims that living so close to the runway could lead to health issues such as hyper tension.
"I have been here all of my life, I was woken at 7.40am this morning because of the noise of a plane taking off. The DAA have completely ignored us" - Sheila, a local resident.
Paul O'Kane, Communications Officer with the DAA also spoke to us and explained how this runway has been planned since 1968.
