Residents in parts of South Dublin and the City Centre should regain normal water supply by this evening following a burst water main.

Irish Water along with the relevant local councils have repaired the large water main in the Stillorgan area this afternoon which affected supply to parts of the city centre and southside.

These included Leeson Street, Ballsbridge, Stillorgan, Blackrock, Donnybrook, Merrion, Booterstown, Clonskeagh, Ranelagh, Rathmines, Terenure, Rathfarnham and Windy Arbour.

To reduce the impact of the disruption crews were able to reconfigure the network to some areas and worked through the night and today to repair the burst and restore water.

Irish Water is warning some may experience temporary water discolouration or internal airlocks following the outage.
