A witness has told a murder trial he saw a woman arguing on the phone on the morning that the alleged victim died.
29 year old Marta Herda from Pairc na Saile in Arklow denies murdering Csaba Orsas by driving them both into the sea deliberately.
It’s the prosecutions case that Marta Herda was in a car with Csaba Orsas on March 26th 2013 when she drove them both through barriers on purpose and into the sea at Arklow Harbour. The prosecution alleges the accused could swim and knew the deceased could not.
A witness told the court today he was heading to work at around a quarter past five on the morning of the crash when he spotted a parked Volkswagon Passat with a woman inside it on her own. He told the jury the woman was on the phone - and appeared to be involved in a heated argument.
A garda told the jury the accused Marta Herda had two phones – one of them was generally used for Chuba Orsis and the second was used for other people.
A series of calls and texts were exchanged between Marta and Chuba in the 48 hours leading up to the crash. The last call on record was made around a half an hour before her car entered the water.
The trial continues.
