With Pope Francis set to arrive in Ireland this weekend, there will be widespread road closures across Dublin.
The Papal visit will begin in the city, with a trip Croke Park on Saturday 25th, followed by a trip to Knock & The RDS on Sunday 26th.
With events taking place across the weekend, this will lead to significant traffic restrictions.
The public are reminded that all events are sold out.
Saturday 25th:
On Saturday, Pope Francis is set to travel through Dublin City. The procession is expected to begin at 4:15pm with 100,000 expected to attend.
Attendees should walk or use public transport, and leave plenty of extra time to get there.
According to The AA, the route is likely to be as followed:
Marlborough St, Cathal Brugha St, O’Connell St, O’Connell Bridge, Westmoreland St, College St, College Green, Dame St, Lord Edward St, High St, Bridge St, Fr Mathew Bridge, Church St, Bow St.

The trip will continue to Croke Park, where Pope Francis will attend the Festival of Families, with gates opening at 4pm.
The event will begin at 6:30pm with 70,000 people set to attend. This event is sold out, and attendees will require a ticket to gain entrance.
The public are advised to walk or use public transport if possible, as parking will be limited close to the stadium.
The following temporary road closures will be in place in the City Centre on Saturday 25th August:
Dublin Bus will operate a normal Saturday service, however significant diversion will be in place on these services. Details of Dublin Bus diversions can be found here.

By Train: the closest main line station is Drumcondra at the junction of Drumcondra Rd and Clonliffe Rd, a five-minute walk from the stadium.
The closest DART stations are Connolly and Clontarf. Connolly is a 15-20 minute.
Sunday 26th:
The Final Mass in the Phoenix Park, which marks the conclusion of the World Meeting of Families 2018 in Dublin.
The mass will begin at 3pm and no more tickets are available.
Ticket-holders will be able to avail of free public transport in the Greater Dublin Area on Sunday (26th)
Dublin City centre will remain open for business on Sunday, but It's advise that people to walk or use public transport to get there.
An Garda Síochána are urging the public to:
- Leave your car at home.
- Take public transport to and from the event. There is free travel with the Phoenix Park Papal Ticket.
- If travelling within Dublin walk to the transport hubs or intermediate stops en route to the Phoenix Park.
- Be prepared to walk on the day and suitable footwear is recommended.
M50: will remain open throughout, however there will be no access for private vehicles from the M50 to the city side of the Navan Rd (J6), Chapelizod Bypass (J7) or Naas Rd (J9) as these will be reserved for buses.
Dublin Bus: normal Sunday service will be in place with additional departures and diversions affecting a quarter of all routes. Full details here.
Dublin Bus will be given priority on dedicated traffic routes throughout the city.
In addition to this, Dublin Bus will have seven dedicated transport hubs throughout the city, to bring you as close as possible to the Phoenix Park.
There will be curtailments to Luas services on Saturday and Sunday. Details here. Post 5pm there will be normal service.
A special DART timetable will be in operation on Sunday (26th) and extra services will be provided. Present your Papal Ticket to avail of FREE travel.
