Vodafone Ireland says service is being restored following a 'technical fault' that caused disruption for customers.
The phone network appeared to have suffered a major outage today, with customers around the country reporting problems.
Vodafone says the fault was causing 'intermittent' voice and data issues for some customers.
In a statement this evening, the company says the root cause has been identified and service should resume over the next few hours.
The company said “Some Vodafone customers experienced intermittent voice and data issues earlier today. The root cause has been identified, a fix has been put in place and power is being restored."
"Customers’ full service should resume over the next few hours. Vodafone apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
