The Army Bomb Disposal team has made safe a viable device found in north Dublin.
The team was called in by Gardai last night after the improvised explosive device was found on a building site in Poppintree, Ballymun.
A number of nearby buildings were evacuated and traffic restrictions were put in place for public safety.
The suspect item was removed to a safe military location for further testing and the scene was declared safe at half past eight.
The device was later determined to have been viable.
