The erecting of the Up The Dubs banner across the Ha'penny Bridge is to be reviewed by the city council.

It's fitted to either side of the Ha'penny Bridge and covers the railings end to end.

The flag is unfurled when the team is gearing up for a final and is supposed to come down the day after, however it's still there over a week since the Dubs victory in the league final.

While there's a lot of love for the banner, some have hit out saying it's tacky to place it on such a beautiful structure.

Heritage group An Taisce says the iconic and protected Ha'penny bridge "should not be concealed, never mind defaced with any form of promotional material."

A spokesperson for Dublin City Council has told 98FM News the banner was left up for longer this time due to a staffing issue, but it's coming down now and the local authority will review the use of the bridge for displaying the banner.
