College Green is set to be pedestrianised next month.

It's a trial for Dublin City Council proposals to ban cars from the area.

Back in 2016, the council proposed a €10 million project to permanently pedestrianise the area.

However, An Bord Pleanala turned down the plan.

At the time, the planning authority did note that the proposals would "enhance the amenity and attractiveness of the location".

But it was thought that a traffic analysis did not take enough account of the effects of blocking buses and cars from the area.

This upcoming trial on three Sundays this summer - on July 21st,  July 28th and August 4th- shows the council hasn't ditched the idea completely yet.

The authority is hoping to submit new plans later this year.
