Security is being ramped up in the north inner city ahead of the funeral of Eddie Hutch Senior. The brother of Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch was gunned down at his home in Poplar Row Monday 8th February.
For the second time this week, a major Garda operation is in place as family and friends prepare to gather for the funeral. The dad of five was shot dead in an apparent revenge attack for the murder of Crumlin man David Byrne who was gunned down at the Regency Hotel.
Eddie Hutch senior was not involved in organised crime and was seen as an soft target. The security plan is aimed at preventing any further escalation of the feud.
It’s not known if the Monk will attend the service at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Sean McDermott Street at 11.
