Three Arrested In Dublin For Conspiracy To Murder

Three men have been arrested for conspiracy to murder in Dublin.

This mornings arrests and gun seizures were part of an organised crime operation in the inner city.

Three men, one in his 20s and two in their 30s have been arrested and three fire arms recovered following a Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau operation in Dublin this morning.

Just before 8am the Garda Emergency Response Unit stopped and searched a van on Gardiner Street.

They recovered three firearms, described as; a sub machine gun, a semi automatic pistol and a revolver.

The three men were arrested for conspiracy to murder and are being held at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.

Assistant Garda Commissioner John O' Driscoll, is responsible for Special Crime Operations.

He said their efforts to tackle organised crime, particularly where it gives rise to threat to life, are unrelenting and their action today has yet again resulted in the arrests of suspects and the associated seizure of firearms.
