The proposals have been causing concerns for Dubliners in recent weeks - with revised plans for the Metrolink due to be published early next month.

Bus Connects

Residents in Rathgar are the latest community to voice concerns over the Bus Connects plan.  The Rathgar Road Residents Group has joined neighbours from Rathfarnham, Templeogue and Terenure by launching the 'Rathgar Is A Community Not A Corridor' campaign. reports that residents are not happy with the plan by the NTA that would save 7 minutes bus travel time from Rathfarnham to the city centre. It has an estimated cost of 120 million euro.

Leo Varadkar says the new plans by the National Transport Authority will free up commuters time. He said: 'There are lots of people in my constituency who spend maybe 10 hours a week on the bus.

'With Bus Connects, we could reduce those journey times by half.

'That's an extra five hours a week to spend with your family, to get outdoors, do an evening course. Time is so precious now and we need to do these projects.'
