Ryanair has announced it will cancel up to 30 Irish flights this Thursday, during a strike by pilots.

Only flights between here and the UK will be affected, while all services to Europe will operate as normal.

Pilots are holding a one day stoppage in a row over working conditions.

The airline says it will text or email customers on affected flights, who will get a refund or an alternative flight.

Ryanair cabin crew in a number of other European countries have voted to hold one and two-day strikes later this month.

The workers in Portugal, Spain, Belgium and Italy will hold stoppages on the 25th and 26th of July.

In a statement, Ryanair said it "tried to avert this disruption", which it called "unnecessary", and warned that it "cannot rule out further disruptions in July and August".
