Plans to build a cycle path along the Royal Canal have been unveiled.
It's part of a proposed national cycle route from Dublin to Galway.
The 7 kilometres from the north Docklands area to the border with Fingal would link up an existing cycle path in the city centre to a route in Ashtown.
This would complete Dublin's section of the national route to run all the way to the west.
The work which will start at Sherrif Street lifting bridge has been divided into 3 phases but they could be undertaken at the same time, depending on funding.
Dublin City Council estimates the route will cost around 10 million euro and is expected to start early next year.
