Organisers of a Dublin marathon last weekend have come under fire for the amount of litter that was left behind.
The main supplier of water and energy drinks at the recent Rock 'n' Roll marathon - Coca-Cola - have described the cleaning operation as 'completely unacceptable' - according to the Sunday Times.
Almost 6,000 people took part in the main race, with local residents also critical of the scale of rubbish left behind.
Does anyone know who actually owns/profits from @RnRDublinHalf. Are they a private company? Do they have offices in Ireland? #rubbish #litter #running #waste pic.twitter.com/iXxoMNDmV6

Green Party Dublin City Councillor, Ciarán Cuffe says it's not acceptable:
"I think the rock 'n' roll marathon could have taken a better approach to managing the amount of waste that was created. Everyone is concerned about single-use plastic these days and there are alternatives."
