A group of tourists had to be rescued from a 30 foot passenger boat that ran aground near Ireland's Eye, off the coast of Howth in North County Dublin this afternoon.

The passenger boat sought assistance from another vessel after it hit rocks.

The RNLI Howth Lifeboat was dispatched and it towed the passenger boat back to shore.

An RNLI spokesperson says all passengers and crew are now safe and well.
