A new app's being launched today that helps to identify vacant properties in Dublin that could be turned into homes.

Users simply take a photo of a house they know isn't being used, and it's added to an interactive map.

The high tech solution, called 'Reusing Dublin', is a collaboration between the Peter McVerry Trust and the social enterprise, Space Engagers.

Creator Aoife Corcoran says "it gives people like the Peter McVerry Trust more localised, nuanced data about where the empty homes actually are, what condition they're in and who owns them. That's useful because at the moment there's no accurate data on empty buildings."
