Gardai say they believe a body found at a derelict building in Lucan belongs to a local missing girl.
14 year old Anastasia Kriegal was last seen in St Catherine's Park on Monday evening.
Officers searching for her found remains on the Clonee Road in Lucan at around 1 o'clock this afternoon, and are treating the discovery as suspicious.
Superintendent John Gordon from Lucan Garda Station said they're treating the discovery as suspicious.
"We are appealing to the public for their assistance. Anyone who was here in St. Catherine's Park or on the Clonee Road from 5pm onwards on Monday the 14th of May to contact Lucan Garda Station", he said.
The scene is preserved pending a full Garda tecnhincal examination and the body remains at the scene.
Lucan Gardai say they are investigating all circumstances surrounding the discovery.
One local woman said "It's very sad, it would make you wonder what happened".
