Gardai investigating the murder of a convicted rapist from Finglas have found human remains in Monaghan.

James Nolan was last seen in 2010; his severed arm washed up on Dollymount Strand a year later. This April, his torso was found when officers began a dig beside a meat factory in Tolka Valley Park.

The latest discovery was made as part of an ongoing search, and was made at Lough Na Glack near Carrickmacross.

The local Coroner and the State Pathologist have been notified. The remains have yet to be identified and Gardai say enquires and searches are ongoing.
